Jean Franz Miller, originally from Maryland, long in Pennsylvania, and now also in Center Lovell, Maine, has been an artist since early childhood. She took art classes in high school, art school on Saturdays at the Maryland Institute of Art, and some classes in Gettysburg College (where she majored in English). Her long-term focus was on art-drawing, oils, watercolors life classes, graphic arts, and collage. Her speciality is big, old trees. Landscapes, flowers, and still life provide the main subject matter, but she has done quite a few portraits commissions and some portraits just for pleasure. Nothing is more fun than painting or sketching outdoors, if the weather and insects permit!
